Wimpy burger in South Africa made a few burgers specifically for the blind to communicate that anyone was welcome at the chain. They used sesame seeds to write messages about the food in braile. Cute video!
In 2009, a ukrainian artist named Kseniya Simonova got the interwebs a buzzing with her generative sand paintings on Ukrain's Got Talent.
Fast forward 2 years and SONY Playstation has taken the idea, and hired another sand artist, Natalya Netselya, to create a similar work of art to launch a new game, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
So do we think that Kseniya is no longer in the grit game or was she just too expensive for SONY to pony up the dollars to the artist who made the medium popular?
Myself, Wendy from SugarPusher and Brian from Happybox created a side project to basically make us laugh. It was based on a drunken party game where we would modify movie and song titles to integrate the late actor Corey Haim. It was dubbed The HaimGame. And over the last few weeks we created a Tumblr for it. Needless to say, the Internet does what the Internet does and it was just picked up by io9 and Buzzfeed.
Feel free to contribute and play along. Next up, a Kinect Hack?
This does not look cheap, but it looks pretty cool (even if I am a little tired of 3D street art). Regardless, the effect works and the idea of marrying it to death defying sport works for me. Enjoy the viral-ness.
In what seems a follow-up to Kasabian Guitar Hero, we know have the Chelsea Football Club playing a real vs digital version of 3D space invaders. Yow! But I could take them.
Some lovely Duct Tape art for Converse (by way of FootLocker). The first scene is certainly my favorite but the second makes me all warm and fuzzy inside as well.
No, not a promo for Sons of Anarchy (awesome show btw) but for Carlsberg beer. Are you brave enough to hang with this crowd as you and your date go to the movies? If so, you are rewarded with a cold beer!
To promote the upcoming virus film Contagion, Warner Bros Canada created a billboard that used live bacteria which grew over time in a store window. The bacteria was applied to take the letters of the film title and certainly would attract my interest, not to mention a quick desire to go wash my hands. The editing of the 'making of' video below could be a trailer for the film in itself. Well done!
