Here is some of the latest out of Supertouch Labs. It utilizes a kinect, spacial recognition and activation, remote iPad control and gesture based media control.
The user, once in our Coverflow application can control media using simple gestures right and left. Additionally, the system adjusts the volume based on how close the user is to the screen, so if she is farther away, we can play the content louder for her to hear, if closer, it will be softer.
The core programming works for a variety of media. One can control music, video, movies, presentation slides and images to create amazing presentation control in virtual space. Interested in this? Drop me a line.
A nice little marriage of store window projection and Kinect control coming out of Paris. We did not do this particular one, but it is a nice illustration of the direction that Consumer Engagement Technology and HCI is going in the ad business and the reason we started our Supertouch division.

A video featured on Gizmodo that relates to what the future of screen technology is. What is amazing is how much of this is the type of work we are doing right now with our sister company SuperTouch as well as what is happening in our space regarding tech engagement. See anything you like? Yeah, me too. Stay tuned...
It has been about 18 months since Alpay Kasal and I launched our Interactive Mirror as a test project on YouTube. Since then we have seen people go crazy for it around the world. From non-profits to corporate clients and from consumers to BtoB, our interactive and touch technologies have been getting so much attention, that we are spinning off a separate company called SuperTouch (more on that soon). CNN came to visit us a month or so ago to film our Mirror in it's natural habitat (our offices of course) and those segments are airing this week.
The segment is called The Edge of Discovery and is airing at some point during following times this week - 7/21 6-7am, 7/21 1-2pm, 7/24 2-3pm and 7/25 6-7pm. Not sure when in the hour it will air but if you watch, you will be able to catch up on the world's events as you wait to see it.
We hope you can watch!
Here is the original YouTube video that started it all:
Maybe this vid will change your mind. Unilever commissioned this ice cream machine that uses touch and facial recognition technology to determine if you are happy and smiley. If you are, it rewards you with a free ice cream. You can also take a pic of your smiling self and upload it to Facebook. Great execution of new technologies on behalf of a brand.
