If I were working on General Mills cereal brands, this is the product mash-up I would push through. I created this mock-up while watching The Voice with my 10 year old. Two of the contestants had to sing Foster The People's 'Pumped Up Kicks' for a challenge and my daughter kept saying how much she loved the song. Then she asks for a snack, and I go into the kitchen only to find a box of Kix staring me in the face. So then this happened:
A quick google search revealed that nobody had mocked this up yet and an extension product idea is born. No, I don't think this is a long term product, but instead a pivot product. One created in limited numbers to take advantage of the cultural zeitgeist and create connection with fans and new potential consumers.
I see this as a 10,000 box limited collaboration with proceeds going to a Foster endorsed charity. So next question...anyone know a brand manager at General Mills that I can talk to?
